Go Vegan

you misspelled ”pescetarian”
Surd, don’t expect anyone to become vegan all in one shot. It ain’t going to work and it will just discourage people even further.
I am pescetarian because I want to do the most I can to stop animal cruelty and unethical farming but there are just so many cultural/family issues with my diet so I can’t stop eating fish.
At least I’m trying to do SOMETHING, you don’t have to make everyone feel guilty for not being vegan. It is not going to encourage us to become vegan if you do that, just sayin’.

this is so funny. first of all, i’m not abolishioninstapproach.com, i’m just posting their jpg because it’s a good message. talk to them about the spelling error. secondly, you’re saying that I shouldn’t tell people go vegan, but here you are telling me how to run my blog. do you see the hypocrisy? if you don’t like it, keep off my blog. i can’t imagine that you missed the hint that it was a vegan blog. thirdly, pretty much everyone who eats meat eats it because they were raised in a family and a society in which eating meat is the norm. everyone who ever became vegan gave up some part of their cultural/familial diet. lots of people become vegan all in one shot, too. finally, if you’re a pescetarian, the only animals you’re even arguably saving are pigs, and you aren’t even saving them if you use any of the following: medicines, insulin, chalk, weed killers, fertilizer, cosmetics, floor wax, crayons, antifreeze, glass, china, adhesives, plastics, shoes, paint, chewing gum (unless you buy vegan). if i can convince even one person to go vegan, even if it pisses people like you off, i will consider it a success.

Rants like this one are why I don’t tell people I’m mostly vegan (with occasional eggs and cheese from local farmers who treat their animals right - I know they treat them right, they live on my running route).  Vegans should be encouraging mainstream people to reduce their animal product use, not just blasting them for every little slipup they make.  I love movements like meatless Monday because it teaches people that they don’t need to have meat to eat well. People who were raised to think that a meal required meat to be a meal. Vegan is delicious and easy while helping change the world, that should be the message.
I’ll stick to my moral high ground of supporting people who treat livestock ethically, and you can stick to your moral high ground of alienating everyone who wants to make a difference but doesn’t feel that they can or want to make that sudden a change.
Vegans are seen as a cult instead of being seen as just another eating philosophy. Why? Because they are always trying to convert by making other people feel bad about their choices.
